Grade Calculator — Calculate Your Course Grade & Final Exam Score
Know exactly where you stand. Enter assignment grades and weights to calculate your current average, or find out the minimum score you need on your final exam.
What is a Grade Calculator?
A grade calculator computes your overall course grade by applying weighted averages to all your assignments, quizzes, tests, and exams. Unlike a simple average, a weighted grade calculator correctly accounts for the fact that a final exam worth 40% of your grade matters far more than weekly quizzes worth 5%.
The tool accepts numerical grades, letter grades, and point-based inputs — covering every grading format teachers use. You can add as many assignments as you need and see your current weighted grade update in real time.
The Final Exam Calculator is particularly valuable at the end of a semester: enter your current grade, the percentage weight of your final exam, and your target grade — and the tool tells you exactly what score you need to achieve it.

Understanding Weighted Grades
A simple average treats every assignment equally. A weighted average accounts for how much each assignment actually contributes to your final grade — exactly how teachers calculate it.
Example: if homework is worth 10%, midterms 30%, and the final is worth 40%, a student who scores 100% on homework but 60% on the final will have a very different grade than the raw average of those scores suggests.
The weighted grade formula is: Final Grade = Σ (Score × Weight) / Σ Weight. This calculator applies that formula automatically as you enter your grades.
