CGPA to Percentage Calculator — Instant Conversion for All Universities
Convert CGPA to percentage (and back) in seconds. Supports 4.0, 5.0, and 10.0 grading scales including VTU, Mumbai University, MAKAUT, GTU, SPPU, AICTE, and AKTU.
What is CGPA & Why Convert It?
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is the weighted average of all grade points earned across semesters. While it's the standard academic metric in most Indian universities, many real-world applications — job applications, higher education admissions, scholarship forms, and university transfers — require your academic performance expressed as a percentage.
The challenge is that different universities use different conversion formulas. VTU uses one multiplier, Mumbai University uses another, and MAKAUT has its own formula. Using the wrong formula can misrepresent your academic performance on critical documents.
This calculator supports all major Indian university formulas as well as international 4.0 and 5.0 GPA scales, ensuring you always get the correct conversion for your specific institution.

How CGPA to Percentage Conversion Works
The standard AICTE formula is: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. So a CGPA of 8.5 on a 10-point scale equals 80.75%.
Different universities may apply different multipliers. For example, some institutions use × 10 or have their own regression-based formula derived from comparing CGPA distributions with historical percentage data.
Always verify which formula applies to your university before using the result on official documents. This calculator includes the correct formula for each supported institution.
